As we all know it's Monday and I figured I would try something new to start off the week and instead of my normal morning spin class I opted for beginning Pilate's.  Well, when I started to laugh loud enough for the instructor to turn to me and asked what was so funny? I had this sinking feeling I wasn't returning.  Did she really think I was going to be able to roll my legs that far over my shoulders in public, gracefully mind you, and still call myself a lady?  HA!  This is also when finding out we are suppose to get a blizzard over the next two days, which also led to disaster as if I didn't have enough things stacked against me.  Comedy of errors I tell you.  The instructor should have been happy I was able to laugh at myself, but I digress.

I want to show you what I found on Etsy today.  It's this shop called Hearts & Anchors based out of San Francisco, yep the home town!  I love what she is doing!

Hi All!  Today is going to be a cute, yet short little posting to share some great sites (2) I've found this past week.  I've been working on this project for a friend and her bridal shower.  I can't go into to many details because I'm pretty sure she reads this blog from time to time and I'm actually attempting a surprise.  But in order to give gifts one must wrap them right?  Well check out this site for some fabulous ideas! It's called Nice Package and with a name like that how can you not like it?

Then if you love looking at beautiful images then Pinterest is your next stop.  Be careful because you are going to need to block off some significant time to get lost here.  I highly suggest a great cup of coffee or wine and some quality alone time and this site.

Thank Gosh it's Thursday!  I had the best time today working child care with a little boy named Owen who taught me how to put together puzzles and a little wee one named Isla, who was just fascinated by Owen.  I thought working child care would help me want to push off having kids, but I think it's doing the complete opposite but shhh don't tell my Mom.

Up Up and away!

There is something to be said for turning on the tv to find a concert you went to and loved!  Sara Bareilles at The Fillmore in San Francisco, nothing like memories to put you in a good mood.  The only bummer was I only caught the last 5 minutes, grrr, perhaps better luck next time.  But then again I did dig up my Sara cd, yeah I said cd and rocked out!

If Sara isn't you speed then perhaps Up Up Creative will get you smiling.  She does everything from greeting cards, to note cards, and custom invites. Her cards always make me laugh.

Wedding Invites, note cards, oh my!

  I love the view we have from our apartment when I can see it.  Sadly it's so foggy that I can barely see the YMCA neon sign a block away.  I mean who doesn't want to see the YMCA, but I like the lake a lot more.

But who needs a view, when you can look at Gigi Press.  Yet another design firm where I had to hide the credit cards and hope that I don't break down and buy all their cards.  Kinda makes me wish I had another reason to send out invites.

Monday Calligraphy and invites

Hi All!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  We explored some of the city's amazing dinning and hit up Avec.  Let me tell you I'm in love!  We had the pleasure of sitting at the chef's table and got to watch them do their thing.  I joked with the chef that the food is so good I could just make out with him or the food, if I wasn't married.  Let me tell you that it went over like a lead balloon.  I'm worried that my sense of humor is completely lost on those in the Windy City, that or I need to work on my timing. 

Let's talk about something I do know thing or two about, stationery.  Thanks to some friends via twitter, yeah I just said that, I found out about Laura Hooper Calligraphy. I think I'm in love.  She does calligraphy, custom maps, custom wedding invites, and part genius.  When you see her work you will find a reason to include a map in your invites.

Friday Fun Day?

It's in the single digits here and I"m pretty sure the walk to the gym this evening is going to be the longest mile of my life.  When one must plan to wear four layers on her top and two on the bottom, and is seriously considering three pairs of socks something is wrong.  How does one look cute through out this whole process?  Let's talk about the important things here people!  One must look cute at almost all times or at least show hope of looking cute, therefore I wear pink leather gloves and think warm thoughts.

Best Notecards Ever!

Happy Thursday!  Guess what?  We saw sun yesterday afternoon and this afternoon!  It's amazing and due to the sun I was able to see Lake Michigan clearly from our window.  The view is breath taking.

I know that I'm suppose to use this blog to show off letterpress fabulousness but I saw this on the front page of etsy and I just had to share! I just love this and crack up every time.  I seriously want one for the house, but I think the other half might have something to say about that.

Once you get your sign, you have got to get your note cards from Pocket Creative!  I want to buy them all!  You all know how much I heart thank you notes. Half of it is because you always have a need for them and the other half is because there are so many ways to say thank you.

These thank you almost make me want to have kids again after yesterdays disaster in childcare (all I'm going to say is screaming babies, LOTS of screaming babies).

Blossoming Letterpress Design

I will plan ahead, I will plan ahead, I will plan ahead... Geez, I really need to get on a schedule here.  I'm sorry guys I promise moving forward I will post everyday, minus the weekends, and have lots of lovely letterpress to show you.  And in case you were keeping track, it's flurrying here again.

In my searches I found this cute graduate student of book arts and print making based out of Washington, DC.  She creates some fantastic cards with her design studio Primrose Press.  I'm in love!

Colorful Letterpress love found in Iowa

Shocker, it's snowing here in Chicago.  I think it's a perk of living so close to the lake or just Chicago.  I had to switch over to the hard stuff, aka a latte for this posting. I decided that sleeping 'til 8:30 am wasn't helping anyone, I was still going to be in Chicago when I woke up.  So I got up with the better half to send him off with a goodie bag of food and a latte made with love.  This extra time allowed for proper news reading and finding fun new letterpress companies for you all.

I'm not going to lie.  I had to hide the credit cards when I found The Permanent Collection.  I was actually happy I didn't store my information on paypal.  Based out of Des Moines, IA this women has it going on!  I heart fonts and so does she. Let's check it out!
