Letterpress Perfect

I'm still here, mostly

So it's been about the least. We had a baby, (Hurray Grayson!), had a love one pass away, bought our first house and that's a year since I've posted. I know it's basically death at this point for this blog but I'm hoping to jump start this bad boy again and share amazing stationery and design once again. This year has been interesting to say the least. We had a baby, (Hurray Miss Grayson), lost a love-one, bought our first house, and those are just the big events. In the end we are here, one big happy family. So I've got an overly mobile and insanely strong nine month old, not to mention a house that is running up an insane electric bill for reasons we have yet to figure out. 'Tis life and the show must go on!

This is show is going on with planning Miss Grayson's first birthday on March 2nd. We know I can be a bit anal retentive on the planning side but it's my first kid's first birthday party I'm allowed a bit of leeway before I'm considered crazy, right?

In any case, I stumbled up Calliespondence while cruising Etsy for Grayson's birthday invitations. What can I say? I want her to come style my life! Callie has some of the cutest holiday cards, invitations, and personalized stationery I've seen in a long time. She picks beautiful envelop liners to go with the design. Let's take a look shall we?

It was a big New Year's Eve for a good friend of mine, Julia, as she got engaged! Needless to say I've already started looking out for great Save-the-Dates and invites for her. Of course, customized in her color choice, but you get the idea.

Now time for children's invites. Saldy I'm not going to spoil the surprise for those who will be receiving invites to Grayson's party (don't worry there will be a recap in the end) but these were a very very close second.

I'm back, kind of, mostly...

Hi Guys, so I'm back kind of. I've been a bit busy the past few months growing a kid and for the first 20 or so weeks trying to keep my face out of the toilet (beautiful image right?). I'm doing much better and now counting down the 8 weeks left until this little peanut decides to make it's grand entrance. As I have been telling people, while I'm perfectly okay with the concept of how it got in there and it's growing, I'm a bit terrified about how it's going to come out and what happens once the baby is here. (I start to stress just thinking about it.) If you think that freaks me out, you should see me today, a total mess about doing a birthing center tour. Apparently I can no longer put off deciding where to deliver. As me actually having to take a tour confirms that a stork will not be showing up at my front door with a bundle of joy, instead I've got some heavy lifting in my future.

With that said, I want to show you what I found that had me clamoring to get back to this blog. I was doing some light Facebook letterpress printer stalking (don't judge you do it to) and I found Porridge Papers out of Nebraska. Obviously the first thing I look at is their pretty photos. Hello glitter edging. I just about died! The only thing that could make this better is if they did it in that awesome neon pink that was hot this summer. I would just about die and find any way possible to have something printed with that on it. Personal stationery again?

While I know we may have seen this phrase in college a few times, nothing like classin' it up a bit by putting it on letterpress coasters and enjoying a cold one (which I would love to do but can't.)

Friday love

It's Friday and I'm loving the upcoming thoughts of college football and hangin' with my better half. Today though I decided to throw caution into the wind and wash my hair the day after I got it done. Terrible idea because right now I look like a missing contestant for the Westminster Dog Show in the poodle catagory. Okay it's not that bad but if my better half brings it up at lunch without me prompting him for his opinion, it's noticeable. I guess I need to work on doing my own hair again. I still love the cut even if I feel like a poodle today. There is totally humidity in the air today right?

Since it's Friday I think I'm going to show a cute letterpress print each Friday. You know start a thing...

So Cal love

Today was awesome. I'm back to my natural blond color thanks to Taylor and I'm looking extra chic with a new do as well. I love Taylor but she keeps on moving to more up and coming neighborhoods in San Francisco. The highlight is some how Rosemunde is always near by. Luckily for me I was rockin' more of my hipster look today with skinny jeans and a hot pink t shirt, so I blended more than my usual preppy-self. Let me tell you nothing hits the spot like a Rosemunde hot Italian sausage with hot peppers. So I ended up feeling sick the rest of the afternoon and had issues but it still tasted amazing! The little things in life I tell you.

Speaking of which, hello Kiss and Punch Designs I heart you. They have some fun and humorous cards. Julie based in Southern California makes me smile a lot.

With all the Facebook craziness (yes, I hate the new changes too) this card really makes me laugh.

Going Upstate

It's Wednesday and I'm feeling it. Ugh, well it is also 100 degrees here and I'm just not feeling the love. I'm also not feeling so witty today so I'll save you the banter and head straight to the good stuff.

I found this design shop out of Buffalo, NY. They make some super cute custom wedding invitations, thank you notes, and baby shower invites as well. I've decided to show off some of their individual greeting cards here. French Press makes me happy and feel less hot.

Oh LA...

So last night, as some of you might know thanks to twitter, my better half and I did a bad, bad thing. We succumb to Jess and her ad's with Domino's Pizza and ordered our favorite from many a late night in college. Only this time we were completely sober and actually had more than enough money to pay the bill, funny how that works. To say the pizza hit the spot would be a massive understatement. For a moment I thought I had died and gone to culinary heaven, this my friends is when I realized other than when Mom came to town I really haven't eaten much. Then I snapped out of it and realized it wasn't A-16 it was Domino's. (Yes, I had a cold slice as part of my lunch today because that's how I roll.) I'm not saying this is going to become a regular thing because I know way better than that but man was it nice last night.

So on to paper goodies, I found another husband and wife team (sensing an unplanned theme so far this week) out of Los Angeles named Dear Hancock. They do hand painted illustrations on cards. I know not necessarily letterpress but I appreciate a good card when I see it and feel the need to share the love with you all.

So our friends have a Boston Terrier named Goose and if he were to wear a suit I'm pretty sure he would rock this.

Oh Texas is bringin' it

This weekend was all about football at our house. Saturday was marked appropriately with 12 hours of college football viewing. Yes, we did make it out to dinner (cooking still makes me sick) and only missed one play between the time we got in our car and the time we made it to the bar at P.F. Changs. Am I proud of this, both the only missing one play (without even trying) or the P.F. Changs part? I'm not to sure but hey I was craving crab won-tons and I needed to listen to Baby Z. (Apparently the kid already knows the drills and also like chili con queso on game day as well, but who is saying anything?)

Sunday was just as football sprinkled only instead of watching games because let's be honest watching Harbaugh coach the 49er's kinda makes me sick. He should have stayed at Stanford, but it's okay we give the new guy two thumbs up, thus far. I had a craving to watch Rudy, classic football movie right? Turns out my better half has never seen it before. Seriously, I almost died. Thanks to Appletv we got to view one of my favorite sports movies. He was not impressed with said flick, I'm also pretty sure our love for sports movies is not shared-how we are still together after this discovery, pure miracle (another classic sports movie). I will forgive him, as he did have to deal with a preggo women watching a tear jerker. Rudy, Rudy, Rudy....

On to other amazing things, I found a husband and wife design team out of Texas for your viewing pleasure. I'm in love! Tad and Faboo has everything for your paper needs from baby shower invites (yes on the brain) to gorgeous wedding invite suites and everything in between!

I'm going to start with a wedding invite suite that has beautiful colors and fun yet classy paper cut outs. It doesn't hurt that the color combo was up there as a contender for our wedding colors.

Quicky Friday

I'm over being sick and I just want to workout again. Dear heavens, I've shocked myself and want to head back into the studio to workout. Perhaps on Monday I will take the plunge and try not to toss my cookies and feel the burn. Until then it's movies and college football this weekend. If you expect anything more from me and my better half you will be sorely disappointed. I might actually have to put on real clothes for the movie part as he wants to actually go to the movies instead of watching bad ones on Netflix streaming, but the things we do for love.

Until then I kinda wanna hang this print on our front door as a warning to those who would think of stopping by.

Oh it's Thursday and staying super local

It's Thursday and my Mom left this morning, so not cool. It's like she has this magical powers to keep me from getting sick only one and feeling good most of the time. Since I dropped her off this morning I've been nothing but green. It was definitely an extra perk of having her around aside from the fact she is just plain AWESOME! (Yeah I went there.)

We did a little baby shopping while she was in town. Let me tell you Baby Z is going to be one finely dressed peanut. Although why is finding yellow baby clothes and bedding and well anything baby related so damn difficult. One would think the world is teaming with my better half to have me find out, boy or girl with all the pink and blue around, but I digress.

I was reviewing my records and I was shocked to find out that I have not shown you the amazing work of Elizabeth Weil from PaperWheel Press. I'm in love with the geek chic and the animals.

I think we are visiting Seattle...

Hi All! Okay so about that whole four to five days a week posting thing... I'm getting there. My Mom came into town yesterday and well the posting just didn't happen but I'm back with a cute design gal to show you. Yes, Mom has been taking care of me, even made dinner when I almost lost it while letting her know what is what. I'm sure she was thrilled to eat a baked potato and scrambled eggs for dinner, that my friend is love.

Speaking of love, I'm in love with Hobson House Design and her wedding invitations. From what I gather Erin is based in Seattle. (If I'm wrong please let me know and correct me.) Her designs just make me smile.

I know it's a bit late for you current fall brides but those looking to get married next fall have I have an invitations for you!
