Yesterday I was super excited about my Hip Hop Spin class, like was counting down the minutes 'til class at 6:15 pm. I talked the better half into not bailing and no, we really need to go and get cardio in, the whole bit. You feel me?
I get there, I have a spring in my step, and I make a comment to the front desk guy and a nice gal from the gym. They cringe a bit then say, "Yeah, we no longer offer that but don't worry we have a sub and it's power cycle it will be good." I think I almosted cried at that moment but I took my spin shoes with me and decided to power through. Then I saw the instructor, a sub mind you, and she is a tiny all muscle women with fake girlie parts that are staring up at me. My parents live in Newport Beach, CA so nothing terribly new to me. In any case, I try to make it through class but once again reminded that good instructors are the key to enjoying yourself and having a great workout. This was not the case at all today, and then when she stripped down to a flimsy sports bra and bike shorts it was the last straw. Me and my PMSing self just lost it and walked out. There was no way I could bring myself to stare at that for an additional 45 minutes, have a terrible instructor/workout, and not want to shoot myself. So as penance I get to take a Dailey Method class and try out yoga this afternoon, may the force be with me! I'm sure you all will hear about the yoga adventure because I know I'm going to end up giggling like a school girl, as I am not a bendy person. I just play one on tv.
Should I end up having to take coopious amount of Advil and be religated to the couch I will always have the fine work from May Day Studio to make me smile. I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly who is based in Vermont, yet has spent some quality time in San Francisco aka a girl after my own heart, as I went to college in Vermont. When I walked into her booth and saw her prints they literally brought tears to my eyes. Let's take a look at some of her work, shall we?
Okay, so truth be told I really need to learn to take a photo, one of the many lessons of NSS. So here is a photo Kelly took and has on her lovely blog of her booth.

Here is an up close shot of one of her prints, once again wish I had more wall space.

Kelly also has some fun and quirky cards in her collection.

I wish I could take better photos and wish I took more of Kelly's work at NSS because it was awesome. She also creates great journals for that writer you know and love, so don't be afraid to go and check her out.
